Tom started his career at Lord & Taylor fresh from college. Tom began in Men’s tailored clothing and held various assignments in the men’s buying office as well as the stores. His buying assignment included men’s sportswear and tailored clothing for Lord &Taylor.

After five years at Lord & Taylor he moved to the off price world as Merchandise Vice President for Gentry Clothiers in the Midwest. The buying office was located in New York and it was during this time that Tom made great relationships in the market place. He spent 4 days a week in vendor showrooms throughout the city, finding great , off price deals.

Unfortunately Gentry was forced to close many stores and with an insure future Tom made the decision to make a move to Saks Fifth Avenue. During his 24 year career at Saks Tom grew through the ranks, growing from buyer to SVP General Merchandise Manager of men’s & concession. Major contributions include designing and merchandising seven stand alone men’s stores, developing the Saks proprietary men’s collection, and leading the designer sneaker phenomenon. Tom traveled extensively throughout Europe making 80 plus trips to Europe for men’s fashion weeks and buying trips.

In addition Tom was SVP of concession at Saks and oversaw the restaurant, beauty , & fashion concession business’s. Negotiating business agreements with LVMH, Kerring, as well as others was part of the growth of Saks.

In 2017 Tom was promoted to Chief Merchant at Saks Off Fifth & Gilt. During this assignment Tom was in charge of all merchandising categories including e-commerce and was able to return the performance to positive comps and the operating company achieved plan for the first time in nine years. During his tenure at Off Fifth Tom was instrumental in driving Private Label / Private brands to a 15% increase for Spring 2019 and driving new businesses in beauty Women’s intimates.

Since leaving Saks Tom runs Retail and Fashion Solutions which is a fashion & retail consulting company servicing global clients.

Tom resides in Westchester New York . He and wife Michelle have four daughters and while not busy with his family Tom is a Triathlete, having competed in 9 Olympic distance triathlons & run 5 marathons.
